I'm speaking at my church for the first time in front of people. Any advice or things to add?

I'm going to be speaking to some of the youth interns at my church. We are Christian non-denominational. I'm not exactly sure what the ';theme'; of my nugget should be yet, but I pray and ask the spirit to guide me. I know I want to center it around the poem The Vision by Billy Kennedy and talk about how Christians must stay focused on God and change the generation in the long run, no matter what stands in thier way. I also provided some scriptures to hilight some key points. Any good quotes, scriptures, or anything to add that has to do with keeping focused on God? Thanks =)I'm speaking at my church for the first time in front of people. Any advice or things to add?
To be Gods people don't let the World infiltrate their thinking to be set a part and Holy for God. It is rare we see this anymore. Follow his vision for their lives. Trust God he will give you what to say!I'm speaking at my church for the first time in front of people. Any advice or things to add?
You might consider a fast to help draw closer to the Spirit. It is interesting that you would choose vision. I just attend a world wide missions Conference and that was the theme. You may think about reminding them that God has a purpose and plan for their lives...that purpose and plan should be their vision.
Psalm 78 talks about keeping the ';talk'; focussed on the greatness of the LORD, and the deeds of the LORD...so the next generation is able to learn what the principles and meaning of the true gospel is...

Prepare as well as you can; use personal experience to make it real to your self...if you are excited by it, your hearers will be too...and remember not to let your nerves

';hurry '; you ...take breaths, pause...but keep it coming ! You will do fine...just remember where your help comes from !
Keep it short and simple ,speak to the back of the room so you will be heard

,Stick with reading of the words ,not off the top of your head you will get mixed up ,Do your own punctuation for your own breathing. Find a friend read to them.

Pray.
Yes! Get out of the way and let G-d have His perfect will. Don't be at all surprised if you get up there, and G-d completely changes what He needs you to teach.

This is the voice of experience - I've been speaking at my church recently, and just today G-d again changed what needed to be said at the last minute...as I was taking the platform.

Just be available, and let G-d be G-d.
Since most of your audience will be younger, you might find some quotes in 1 Timothy where Paul is telling a young minister how to stay on track.
just add this line after you finish your speech

';This speech is purely based on fiction nor is there any evidence to support the claims made, just pure speculation, buyer beware'; Thank you.
Well...uh...I'm sure the Bible has a lot of good quotes that have to do with staying focused on God...:
|I would recommend taking some beano a few hours beforehand. Just to be on the safe side.
A great speech is ';6-6-6 Yam noigiler dne yllanrete!';
Take a few drinks, like God says in the Bible!

Jeremiah 25:27-28 (NIV) ';Then tell them, “This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.” But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, 'This is what the LORD Almighty says: YOU MUST DRINK IT!

Hey, how would you like to have the Bible God as a bartender? I know it is a bit too primitive, but with a little training he seems to have what it takes! He must be serving some cheap whiskey in this story! BTW, God doesn’t ID! If drinking is a sin do you think that God would force his chosen people of Israel to get DRUNK to the point of VOMITING? You better start praying RIGHT NOW that if you feel that God is about to chastise you for whatever reason that you have the chance to have a few drinks first to pick up some spark, but please no matter what the Bible says, don’t overdo it! Drinking until you collapse is about the pattern in the Bible, and the dysfunctional Bible God loves to watch you VOMIT!

The Bible God made King Solomon “the Wisest Man ever to set Foot on this Earth!” And this is what he has to say about drinking in his book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 31:6-7 (NIV) Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more* (*I always hear all the opposite from a preacher, WHILE THE PREACHER DOES DRINK, but discreetly in the closet, of course!)!

The Priestly Bible writers are saying that nothing beats a good shot of hard liquor to get you back on your feet! I just wonder what makes the Christians today so prude and intolerant! It must be a Victorian Era hangover, not from the Bible!

Zachariah 9:17 (KJV) For how great is his goodness* (*God’s goodness), and how great is his beauty* (*God’s beauty)! Corn* (*fermented corn whiskey!) shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids* (*even in Bible times, wining the ladies was most appropriate!).

1 Corinthians 9:4 (KJV) (Saint Paul says) - Have we not POWER to eat and to DRINK?* (*Yeap, but Christians today don’t go for that anymore!)

God sets himself as an example of how much to drink!

Numbers 28:7 (NIV) The accompanying drink offering is to be a quarter of a hin of FERMENTED DRINK (KJV ';strong wine';) with each lamb* (*The Jewish Priests used to sacrifice lambs by the thousands so you can imagine how many US Gallons of booze that is…) POUR OUT THE DRINK OFFERING TO THE LORD at the sanctuary* (*BTW, the “sanctuary” of The LORD must have smelled like a cheap bar joint with so much booze offerings poured all over the Altar!).

The Bible writers are telling us what it is like when this Boozer God wakes up in the morning with a terribly hangover…

Psalm 78:65 “THEN THE LORD AWOKE AS FROM SLEEP, AS A MAN WAKES FROM THE STUPOR OF WINE”

Yeah… after all that fermented drink and strong wine offerings… red eyes… vomiting all over like when he was forcing everybody else to drink until they vomit… cursing like Hell… lacking good judgment.... and ready to start killing Christians especially those who are not up to date with their tithes and offerings! Christians came up with the crazy idea of shutting down liquor stores and bars on Sunday mornings during worship hours! It is like slapping God’s face real hard for demanding a “strong drink offering!”

Revelation 14:10-11 (NIV) [Jesus says] ';he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.* (*sheer boozer God talk!)

2 Peter 1:21 (KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost* (*this statement comes as an epilogue to the Bible so you know that the Bible God inspired all that was written in it! Or was it the smoke of some notorious “burning bush”…?)

Preachers won’t tell you this much because they know what to skim off the Bible so your faithfully giving to The LORD won’t waiver! Christians hate atheists because they tell you like it is in the Bible, without giving you any “spiritually speaking” crap! And all the gratitude that I am getting is TDs!
How about you give a Speech on how Jesus is not God, and how the Jehovah's witnesses are right.
